Devotion 2

Satan Hindered

WE STAND, NOT ALONE BUT TOGETHER.

“Finally, my brothers and sisters, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles, the schemes of the devil.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood,

but against principalities, against powers,

against the rulers of the darkness of this age,

against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day,

and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth,

having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—”

Ephesians 6:10-18 NKJV

It’s crucial to remember that we live in a world where our spiritual enemies never declare a truce. Our enemy walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he can devour, so we need to be always ready for that lion to appear from around the corner in our jungle! Maybe even more so when we step up and show His love to our persecuted brothers and sisters.. We are His vanguard, carrying out His purposes here on earth, His witnesses, His ambassadors, we proclaim His Kingdom and show his deep love to the persecuted and suffering. In fellowship together, to stand against the enemy, this can only be pleasing to God as an expression of our love for one another. What we do is worth taking a few flaming arrows in my book but still we must be always ready, sober, vigilant. Ready to stand and effectively initiate use of the armor HE has given us for our battles. We resist the enemy, steadfast in faith, submitting to God…the evil one MUST FLEE! And in confidence even as we endure the battle we are thankful, we praise, we have great confidence in our God in whom we trust.

We need to arm ourselves each and every day, having all the attributes of the Armour of God in your very being.

Truth

(belt of truth around you now)

Righteousness

(breastplate of righteousness across your chest)

Peace

(His peace upon your feet)

Faith

(shield 🛡️ of faith in your hand)

Salvation

(helmet of salvation for your head)

Word of God

(His Word will be the sword 🗡️ you keep close)

You are covered head to toe!

With Prayer, Supplications, Praying in the Spirit, Intercessions and Declarations we stand.

No matter what happens we should be able to stand our ground and after we have done everything, to stand, when we’re in the thick of battles we declare our trust in God. He is our confidence, He is with us in the conflict. He declares- “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit..” Zechariah 4:6

As the battle rages we hold on to Him and keep standing. In due season the change will come in our circumstances and situations and in the meantime He fights for us in all circumstances.

“Therefore we wanted to come to you – even I, Paul, time and again – but Satan hindered us.” 1 Thessalonians 2:18 NKJV

The enemy may seek to hinder us but he will not prevail- Jesus in us is the victor, already and always.
