God is our refuge. When the Bible describes God as our refuge, it is saying that God is our safe place when we need protection from something. The word refuge literally means “to flee,” as in running to a shelter. It speaks of a place of safety and trust. what do you when troubles come your way?

Week 9

When we experience difficulties, they can cause us to lose our strength and drain our energy. Sometimes we are not strong enough to overcome our troubles and difficulties, however when we go to God our refuge He will give us the strength to cope. David says in Psalm 2:11 “The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace”.

Week 10

Isaiah reminds us God will renew our strength and we will soar on wings like eagles; we will run and not grow weary, we will walk and not be faint  (Isaiah 40:31)

When you feel weak because of the problems you may be facing don't despair. Remember strength is found in the one and true living God the father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Reflection and prayer

Week 11

God is our ever-present help in trouble.

The word “an ever present help in trouble.” could be translated “being found.” Believers have found the Lord to be a refuge, strength and help in times of troubles.

When we talk about God been our help, we are talking about God assisting and supporting His people in times of hardship and distress. It’s important to always remember that when you are in the midst of trouble the Lord is with you, you are not alone.

Reflection and prayer

week 12

We are not alone, Just before Jesus left this earth he said to His disciples in Matthew 28:20 “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” How does this encourage you?

Always remember God is Almighty and He is greater than all the troubles in the world and any which we face. Let’s make sure we hold His hand tightly so that we can confidently walk through the tough times.

Week 14

If we believe and know who God is, then whatever storm roars and comes our way we will not fear and will be able to say with the psalmist “The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.” Psalm 46:7, lets keep this in our hearts, God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
